At our 5 acre site, we have dedicated loaders and pickers to get your orders together and loaded onto your vehicle. Whether it is in the back of a car, on a flatbed trailer with a tractor, or a horse box, we can get your materials loaded on site through manual lifting or, if it is suitable, using one of our forklifts.

To get our stock to your doorstep, we have our own fleet of vehicles currently with 3 lorrys and 3 vans for any sized load. We have a standard 60 mile delivery rate with a flat rate every 10 of those miles, no matter the size of order. Anything over that we can still deliver, but that will be a custom price. David Musson Fencing started in 1981 when David, looking to diversify from the small farm, bought a pack of 50 fencing posts to sell to other local farmers. David can well remember looking at this single pack of posts and wondering if he could sell them on. Word soon got around when Jan (David’s wife) went around every farm she could find and popped a card through the door. David also had a stand at the Melton Livestock Market.

Throughout the 80s and 90s the business continued to grow, with David’s eldest son Matt, and later Ben, joining the business. Different product lines were introduced such as garden panels and landscaping timbers, and the business’s customer base went from almost entirely agricultural to happily including everyone such as the general public, fencing contractors and county councils.

The business continued to grow both its customer base and the range of products we stocked. David Musson Fencing prided itself on being a place you could buy several hundred metres of post and rail fencing ‘off the shelf’, or one post to fix your bird table! In 2007 the business became a limited company and David took a step back from front line duties with Matt and Ben taking the reins. This did not stop David coming in to keep an eye on things, and to this day he still hasn’t stopped. In the same year the first IT system was installed.

Through the 2000s we saw rapid expansion. The size of the yard increased to around five times the original size when David started. New storage buildings and offices were erected with an eye on the ever increasing work force. The most recent years since 2017 have been the busiest in the company’s history with a dedicated transport manager role and a fleet of HGVs. The company is still investing in people with new roles being created as the company grows.
