Usage Guidelines
Do:
- Always follow the Abrasive Wheel Regulations (1970) and wear suitable protective clothing when using this blade.
- Ensure the directional arrow on the disc matches the machine spindle rotation.
- Check that the spindle and bearings are in good condition before use — excessive vibration can cause wear and potential hazards.
- Use the blade with a gentle, steady reciprocating motion for efficient and safe cutting.
Don’t:
- Do not tilt the blade when cutting — this can lead to centre fatigue and increase the risk of damage or injury.
- Avoid applying pressure or force; the machine’s weight provides sufficient cutting power. Extra pressure increases wear, heat, and danger.
- Do not let excessive heat be generated. Prevent overheating by allowing the blade to run freely at short intervals for cooling.
- Never use the blade on unsuitable materials or operate with a damaged or worn disc.
Important:
Diamond blades may occasionally need sharpening if the cutting edge becomes glazed, leading to hot spots. To restore cutting performance, run the blade through a soft or abrasive material such as aerated concrete or breeze block.
For consistent, high-quality results, ensure your saw is serviced regularly and that the air filter is clean. Inspect the blade often for signs of damage or excessive wear on the centre or segment areas — do not use a damaged or worn blade.
