Installation Information
When installing, leave approximately 10mm clearance between the gate and the clapping post, and 15mm on the hanging side to allow smooth operation. Although this featheredge gate is pressure treated, applying Restol UV Oil before installation will help protect the timber and maintain its appearance. As a minimum when hanging the pedestrian gates, a 2.4m x 100mm x 100mm post should be used for widths up 0.91m. Gate widths beyond that should use larger posts such as the 125mm x 125mm, 150mm x 150mm or 175mm x 175mm gates posts at 2.7m long. The wider the gate, the larger and stronger is post needed. It is recommended to install brenton bolts at the top and bottom of the gate to reduce warping when the gate it not in use. Installation recommendations are provided as guidance only, with final fitting decisions remaining the responsibility of the installer.
Important Information
As timber is a natural material, variations in colour, finish and dimensions may occur, and the timber may naturally move, split, twist, swell or shrink over time. This gate is not suitable for automation.
