Built To Last – The Wessex Heavy Duty Gate
The Wessex heavy duty gate isn’t just strong – it’s built with purpose. Whether you’re fencing off a driveway, paddock, or field entrance, this 5 bar wooden gate strikes the right balance between toughness and traditional design.
With its universal hanging design, you can hang it from either side, giving you more freedom during fitting. Made in Britain using slow-grown softwood, it’s a solid, sustainable choice that stands up to the elements and the everyday knocks of rural life.
Two robust 4″ x 3″ stiles anchor either side of the gate, while the 4″ wide rails and braces are all neatly planed with rounded edges. This makes for better water runoff and a smart finish – less maintenance, better lifespan. The domed top bar adds a bit of visual flair too, especially at the front of a property.
Its mortice and tenon joints with diamond bracing give the Wessex heavy duty gate its strength, while stainless steel fixings hold everything tightly together. Pressure-treated and finely finished, it’s ready for years of reliable use – however it must be treated with Restol UV Oil before installation.
Available in widths from 3’ to 14’, with a height of 3’ 7” to the top bar (4’ at the stile), this gate makes a solid impression wherever it’s installed.
